Bruschetta is a dish that originated in Italy, and has become popular all over the world.
Bruschetta's origin dates back to at least the 15th century from central Italy, and consists of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and then topped with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
Many variations exist which may include other toppings such as spicy red pepper, tomato, vegetables, beans, cured meat, and cheese.
One of the most popular recipes is from America and ivolves basil, fresh mozzarella, and tomato.
Bruschetta makes a great appetizer, snack, or light lunch.
